Tiny islands of Koh Khai Nok, Koh Khai Nui and Koh Khai Nai are popular destinations for short day trips from Koh Yao Yai. See all three “Chicken” Islands in a one single half day private longtail boat tour. A very popular tour with the kids who can watch schools of tropical fish in very shallow and safe waters.
The private longtail boat trips starts from Loh Park pier on the south of Koh Yao Yai or from the Elixir resort beach if arranged. Usually the first island stop is Koh Khai Nui for snorkeling. It is just the rock with clear waters around. After spending some time in the sea captain takes you to the bigger Koh Khai Nok, where you can enjoy sandy beach time on sunbeds or have a drink in one of the beach bars. Last stop on the way back is on Koh Khai Nai, where you can snorkel or again enjoy some more beach time. Beautiful scenery of large Koh Yao Yai islands is to be seen all the time. There are small shops, restaurants on the islands and jet ski rental on the last one.
These islands remind us well known atolls in Indian Ocean.
