Overview

King Cruiser byl trajekt pro přepravu osob a aut z Phuketu na ostrovy Phi Phi. Potopil se v roce 4. května 1997 po nárazu na útes zvaný Anemone Reef. Naštěstí nedošlo k žádným ztrátám na životech.

Po nárazu se potopil a zůstal ve vzpřímené poloze nedaleko Anemone Reef a Shark Pointu. Hloubka na písečném dně je kolem 32 metrů a horní paluba leží kolem 18 metrů. Vrak je dlouhý 85 metrů a široký 25 metrů se čtyřmi palubami a rozbitými okny, přes které potápěči plavou dovnitř vraku.

V oblasti vraku již byl několikrát viděn útesový žralok. Žije tam obrovské množství ryb, které se ukrývají v okolí lodě jako například kranasi, ropušnice, chňapali, perutýni.

Itinerář

AOWD divers or divers with deep/wreck specialty needed

We need to have bookings from AOWD divers or divers with deep/wreck specialty to dive on the wreck which lies on sandy bottom from 35 metres to 20 metres on top. Subject of availability.

Departure time

Our departure times depend on the tide schedule to ensure the best possible diving conditions with mild to no current. We will confirm the departure time via email or WhatsApp. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before scheduled departure.

Paperwork and equipment

We will check your diving certification, have you complete the diving form, and assist with trying on equipment if needed. You'll also receive a briefing about the tour.

Transfer to the dive site

After a tour briefing, we’ll head to Loh Jark Pier by taxi (if booked) or by your rental scooter if a taxi hasn’t been arranged. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the dive site.

2 dives on King Cruiser wreck and Shark Point

Each dive lasts approximately 50 minutes or until reaching 50 bars of air, whichever comes first. The wreck dive is usually shorter 35-40 minutes. After the dive, we take a one-hour surface break, during which you can enjoy fresh fruit and soft drinks.

Return to Koh Yao Yai after 4 hours

We cruise back to Koh Yao Yai, a journey of about 20 minutes, and return to the office to fill out logbooks and share our diving experiences.

How do I get to your location? Is transfer included in the price?

Roundtrip transfer is not included in the price.

Roundtrip transfer rates of local taxi service:

  • Elixir resort – Stop office - Loh Jark pier 400 THB
  • From all other resorts and areas – Stop office - Loh Jark pier 1,000 THB for 1-5 people, extra person 100 THB

Price of the transfer is always roundtrip and is per car. We split the costs, if there are more guests from the same area. Please send us resort name and your room number to arrange the transfer and pick up.

We recommend renting a scooter to come to our office (250-300 THB/day). There is very little traffic on Koh Yao Yai and scooter is also great way to explore the island.

Do I need an Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD) certification?

Yes, AOWD certificate is required for this wreck dive.
