Vždy vás zaujímalo, aké to je dýchať pod vodou? Ak si chcete vyskúšať potápanie, ale nie ste úplne pripravení pustiť sa do certifikačného kurzu, Discover Scuba Diving je pre vás. Hoci nejde o certifikačný kurz, Discover Scuba Diving je rýchly a jednoduchý úvod do toho, čo je potrebné na objavovanie podmorského sveta.

Aby ste sa mohli zaregistrovať na PADI Discover Scuba Diving, musíte mať aspoň 10 rokov. Nie sú potrebné žiadne predchádzajúce skúsenosti s potápaním, ale musíte mať primerané fyzické zdravie.

Itinerár

Meeting in dive centre

Meet your PADI instructor at the dive centre either the day before your dives or on the morning of your scheduled activity. You’ll start with a short briefing about the Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) experience and complete the required liability and medical forms. Afterwards, you’ll head to the equipment room, where your instructor will introduce you to the scuba gear and explain how to use it.

1 Dive

Once everything is ready, we’ll take a boat ride to our first dive site, where a calm, sandy area provides the perfect place to get started. Your instructor will guide you through the basic scuba skills and show you how to use your equipment safely. This introduction usually takes around 20 minutes. Once you feel comfortable and confident with your new skills, it’s time to explore the open sea! Enjoy the underwater world with your instructor by your side, providing continuous guidance and support throughout the dive. The total duration of your dive will depend on your air consumption, allowing you to enjoy the experience at your own pace.

2 Dive

Enjoy your second open water dive with the personal guidance of an experienced PADI instructor. You’ll join other certified divers on the same boat, while enjoying your dive in a separate group with your instructor.

Each dive typically lasts around 40–50 minutes, depending on your air consumption and diving conditions.

You don’t need to be an independent diver to join this experience. Our instructors will guide you every step of the way, helping you build confidence, develop your skills, and feel more comfortable underwater.

FAQs

How do I get to your location? Is transfer included in the price?

Roundtrip transfer is not included in the price.

Roundtrip transfer rates of local taxi service:

  • Elixir resort – Stop office - Loh Jark pier 400 THB
  • From all other resorts and areas – Stop office - Loh Jark pier 1,000 THB for 1-5 people, extra person 100 THB

Price of the transfer is always roundtrip and is per car. We split the costs, if there are more guests from the same area. Please send us resort name and your room number to arrange the transfer and pick up.

We recommend renting a scooter to come to our office (250-300 THB/day). There is very little traffic on Koh Yao Yai and scooter is also great way to explore the island.

Do I need to be able to swim in order to try diving?

According to PADI standards, all participants in the Discover Scuba Diving program must have swimming ability to ensure their safety.

Do I get certification after taking Discover Scuba Diving program?

This course does not end with full certification. It gives you a chance to be familiar with equipment, train basic skills and try diving experience. It helps people to decide whether they would like to do full PADI Open Water course in the future. It is possible to continue to full PADI course with us after the Discover Scuba Diving course, but the participant needs to start e-learning of theory (6 hours), do one more 3 hours pool session and finish it with one more two tanks diving day.

Which dive site can I see during Try diving program?

The dive site is determined according to our schedule for certified divers. We prepare beginners in professional way to take them to the same amazing dive sites as certified divers to give them the best experience.

Can I do try diving program on Phi Phi and is there any extra charge?

Phi Phi is great location for beginners as Koh Bida Nok dive site starts in 5m depth. The price is the same + you get all sightseeings, but there is 600 THB national park fee extra for diver. Payment in cash.

Can my non-diving partner join me during the course?

We encourage divers to take non-diving partners on the boat only if the course is taken around Phi Phi Islands. The tour offers great snorkeling experience with sightseeing. Partner pays regular tour price plus NP fee 400 THB. Other dive sites are not ideal for non-diver to join the tour.
