Phi Phi Islands Speedboat Tour from Koh Yao Yai - Wednesday, Friday, Sunday

Phi Phi Islands Speedboat Tour from Koh Yao Yai brings you to a small archipelago of six islands in the Andaman Sea. It is one of the most beautiful yet easily accessible island groups in the world. The islands came to worldwide prominence when Maya Beach was a location in the movie The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Without a doubt it is a superstar among Thailand’s islands.

Phi Phi Islands adventurous excursion covers everything. Therefore people snorkel and explore marine life, swim in the blue lagoons or just enjoy scenic views. Phi Phi is a great place to do your PADI Discover Scuba Dive. Occasionally people see turtle or shark on their very first dive and fall into love with diving! Phi Phi is undoubtedly the best snorkeling place with plenty of colourful marine life just few meters under the water surface.

Of the two islands, one is completely free of human inhabitants, and the other is without roads, but offers huge entertainment possibilities. Phi Phi was devastated by the Indian Ocean Tsunami of December 2004, when nearly all of the island’s infrastructure was destroyed.

Maya Bay was closed in 2018 after a sharp rise in visitors had severely damaged the environment. At this time tourists are back due to the successful ecosystem recovering process.

Itinerary

Meet us at 8.40am

Join us and fellow participants at the office 20 minutes before departure. This is your opportunity to try snorkelling equipment and receive a briefing about the day's program.

Departure at 9am - boat cruise

Our cruise lasts about 50 minutes. Enjoy complimentary soft drinks and fresh fruit throughout the day. Feel free to use the marine toilet and fresh water showers as needed. All 12 seats are located under the bimini roof in the shade, with a sundeck for 6 people. You can securely leave your rental motorbike at the pier.

Koh Bida Nok - snorkeling

These two small rock islands are among the best snorkeling spots in the Phi Phi archipelago, and indeed in all of Thailand. Jump into the water in a designated safe zone to spot blacktip reef sharks and admire the vibrant coral reefs.

Maya Bay - photoshoot

Famous for being the filming location of The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Maya Bay is a stunning spot. Our first snorkeling opportunity is between the boat and the tiny beach. After about an hour of snorkeling, we’ll take a 10-minute walk from Loh Sama Bay pier to the other side, where you’ll be greeted by breathtaking views of Maya Beach. Please note that swimming from the beach is not allowed.

Pileh Lagoon - swimming and lunch time

We’ll cruise into this spectacular lagoon, surrounded by towering rock formations. The water here is among the clearest azure you’ll ever see—truly postcard-perfect. We will serve lunch during our stay.

Viking Cave - snorkeling

Located on the northeastern tip of the island, Viking Cave is known for its valuable swiftlets' nests, used in the traditional Chinese delicacy, bird's-nest soup.

Monkey Beach

Located on the west side of Phi Phi Don, Monkey Beach is a fun spot to observe and feed the monkeys that play along the cliffs and on the beach.

Bamboo Island - relaxing

Take time to stroll along the white sandy beach and swim in the crystal-clear waters. A quick walk around the island reveals its serene beauty—find your perfect quiet spot to soak it all in.

FAQs

How do I get to your office? Is the pick up included in the price of the trip?

Roundtrip transfer is not included in the price.

  • Elixir resort – 400 THB (5 mins. drive)
  • Loh Pared Beach Area (Santhiya Resort, Royal Yao Yai, Blue Bay resort, Yao Yai Resort) – 700 THB (15 mins. drive)
  • North of Koh Yao Yai (Anantara, Koh Yao Yai Village, Hillside resort, Thiwson, Baan Taranya – 800 THB (25 mins. drive)

Price of the transfer is always roundtrip and is per car. We split the costs, if there are more guests from the same area. Please send us resort name and your room number to arrange the transfer and pick up.

We recommend renting a motorbike to come to our office (250 THB/day). There is very little traffic on Koh Yao Yai and motorbike is also great way to explore the island.

Why should I book speedboat tour instead of longtail boat tour?

Very common question. However longtail boat experience is one of the highlights in Thailand we recommend to do shorter trips by longtail boat like Koh Hong tour. It takes 1,5 hour just to get to Phi Phi and 1,5 hour to get back. You spend more time by transportation than enjoying the area itself.

Therefore Phi Phi Islands tour by speedboat is faster (45 mins one way) with comfortable cushion seating and more space on boat. It's a long day and it can be convenient to have marine toilet on board as well. Easy access from the sea to boat for older people.

Lastly, yes it is join tour, but in small groups 6-14 people what people like about it. Travellers appreciate it when they see other companies with 20-40 people on board.

Definitely value for money.
