Overview

Phi Phi Islands Speedboat Tour from Koh Yao Yai

Phi Phi Islands Speedboat Tour from Koh Yao Yai brings you to a small archipelago of six islands in the Andaman Sea. It is one of the most beautiful yet easily accessible island groups in the world. The islands came to worldwide prominence when Maya Beach was a location in the movie The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Without a doubt it is a superstar among Thailand’s islands.

Phi Phi Islands adventurous excursion covers everything. Therefore people snorkel and explore marine life, swim in the blue lagoons or just enjoy scenic views. Phi Phi is a great place to do your PADI Discover Scuba Dive. Occasionally people see turtle or shark on their very first dive and fall into love with diving! Phi Phi is undoubtedly the best snorkeling place with plenty of colourful marine life just few meters under the water surface.

Of the two islands, one is completely free of human inhabitants, and the other is without roads, but offers huge entertainment possibilities. Phi Phi was devastated by the Indian Ocean Tsunami of December 2004, when nearly all of the island’s infrastructure was destroyed.

Maya Bay was closed in 2018 after a sharp rise in visitors had severely damaged the environment. At this time tourists are back due to the successful ecosystem recovering process.

Information for all keen divers, Phi Phi Islands Diving Tour combines 2 tanks diving and sightseeing part so do not miss the chance to book this convenient offer.

FAQs

How do I get to your office? Is hotel pickup/drop-off included?

Roundtrip transfer is not included in the price.

Roundtrip transfer rates of local taxi service:

  • Elixir resort – Stop office - Loh Jark pier 400 THB
  • From all other resorts and areas – Stop office - Loh Jark pier 1,000 THB for 1-5 people, extra person 100 THB

Price of the transfer is always roundtrip and is per car. We split the costs, if there are more guests from the same area. Please send us resort name and your room number to arrange the transfer and pick up.

We recommend renting a scooter to come to our office (250-300 THB/day). There is very little traffic on Koh Yao Yai and scooter is also great way to explore the island.

Why should I book speedboat tour instead of longtail boat tour?

Longtail boats are a classic Thai experience, and we definitely recommend trying them for shorter trips—like a tour to Koh Hong. However, for longer distances such as Phi Phi Islands, a speedboat is a much better choice. It takes only about 45 minutes one way by speedboat, compared to 1.5 hours by longtail boat, meaning you spend less time in transit and more time enjoying the islands. Our speedboats offer comfortable cushioned seating, more space, and important conveniences like a marine toilet on board—which makes a big difference on a full-day trip. The boat design also allows for easier access from the sea, which is especially helpful for older guests. Although it's a join-in tour, we keep our groups small (6–12 people), which our guests really appreciate—especially when they see other tours running with 20–40 people on board. In short, our speedboat tour is faster, more comfortable, and better value for money—a great way to experience Phi Phi Islands.

Do you operate Phi Phi tour every day?

We’re ready to run the tour every day; however, we do require a minimum of 6 participants for each tour. Since the island is not very touristic, reaching this number can sometimes be a challenge. That’s why we kindly ask you to contact us via email or WhatsApp to confirm our schedule and let us know about your availability during your stay. Our team will do their best to coordinate and accommodate your request whenever possible.

Do you accept credit cards? Can I pay cash in other currencies than THB?

We do not accept credit cards. Instead, we accept direct payments via PayPal, Wise, or Revolut. For in-person payments, we only accept cash in Thai Baht (THB), as we've had difficulties exchanging foreign banknotes in the past. Thank you for your understanding.

Do I need to know how to swim? Are life jackets provided?

Our tour is quite active, with most of the time spent sightseeing from the boat, swimming, or snorkeling around it—so it's recommended to know how to swim to fully enjoy the experience. That said, we provide life jackets for non-swimmers, children, and elderly guests to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable. If you prefer not to swim, you're absolutely welcome to relax on our sundeck and enjoy the stunning views from the comfort of the boat.

What if the weather is bad? Will the tour be canceled or rescheduled?

We monitor the weather and wind forecast very closely each day to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. If the forecast is uncertain, we make a final decision in the morning and notify all participants via WhatsApp. In case the tour cannot operate, we’ll offer to reschedule it for another day—you're welcome to join if your schedule allows. If rescheduling isn’t possible, we provide a full refund (though in most cases, payment is made just before the tour, so there’s usually nothing to refund).
