Railay Beach & Poda Islands Speedboat Tour

The Railay Beach and Poda Islands excursion in Krabi offers a captivating experience, with its beaches made of fine white sand, ideal for snorkeling. Take a refreshing dip into the crystal clear waters rich in colorful sea life, or take trips to hidden stretches of the beach, away from crowded people. The towering rocky faces of Poda form the perfect scenery for taking timeless shots, definitely a must-do on your itinerary.

Tup Island is connected to Chicken Island by a strip of white sand above water, which looks beautiful. One could walk to Chicken Island from Tup Island at low tide and see all kinds of underwater life on the way. One can also enjoy snorkeling or swimming around the islands.

With its rocky formations shaped like a chicken’s face, Chicken Island offers some very nice snorkelling with numerous clownfish.

Krabi Railay Beach Visit

Railay Beach is indeed a stunning destination with its dramatic limestone cliffs and diverse attractions. Here’s a brief overview of the three distinct parts of Railay Beach:

Railay Beach West is a fantastic beach with much beauty and is lined on all sides by tall limestone cliffs, making it an excellent swimming spot. It’s a good place for sunset, too, as one can peacefully view the sun dropping below the horizon.

Railay Beach East: The different routes on these limestone cliffs attract climbers from all over the world. The lively climbing scene makes this part of Railay special.

Phra Nang Cave Beach: The cave itself is adorned with stunning chandelier-like stalactites, and this beach is another great spot to view sunsets.

Each part of Railay Beach allows for a special experience: no wonder both nature and adventure lovers would include this in their places to visit.

Tup Island

Koh Tap is part of the Mu Koh Poda archipelago, located southwest of Ao Nang, nestled between Koh Poda and Chicken Island. Although Koh Tap is smaller than its neighboring islands, it boasts a beautiful beach and clear waters that are perfect for snorkeling, teeming with vibrant tropical fish. At low tide, a sandbar emerges, connecting Chicken Island to the smaller islands of Koh Mor and Tup. This stunning natural phenomenon is known as Talay Waek, or "divided sea," offering a unique and picturesque experience.

Chicken Island

One of the standout features of Chicken Island is its mesmerizing rock formation that resembles a chicken's head—hence its name. This island feels like a slice of paradise, with scenery that looks straight out of a magazine. Visitors are captivated by its fine white sandy beach and the striking turquoise sea, earning it a reputation as one of the most beautiful beaches in Krabi. As mentioned, Chicken Island is an ideal spot for both swimming and snorkeling, making it a must-visit destination.

Poda Island

Koh Poda is a stunning island in southern Thailand, located just off the coast of Krabi. This island is truly heavenly, featuring smooth sandy beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters that beckon you to jump in. The surrounding reefs are ideal for snorkeling, and the magnificent rock formations create a picturesque backdrop. The Secret beach, inside the small magical bay, features accessible cave with the lovely view over the bay.

Railay beach, Phra Nang Cave

Take a scenic walk from the east beach to the Phra Nang beach, where you’ll find yourself surrounded by towering limestone cliffs that create a stunning backdrop for swimming. Don’t miss the opportunity to stop at Phra Nang Cave, where you can admire a sacred shrine and beautiful stalactites. This area is also renowned for its rock climbing, with limestone cliffs offering a variety of routes that attract climbers from around the globe. Return back to the east pier and walk on another to side to Walking street full of restaurants, pubs, shops and check Railay west beach.

Koh Khai Nai

This tiny island in Phang Nga Bay is located just west of Koh Yao Yai. With its longest side measuring 80 meters and the shorter side around 60 meters, the total perimeter of the island is just under 300 meters. The island features beautiful white sandy beaches all around, and the snorkeling in the shallow waters along its perimeter is excellent, making it a delightful stop for nature enthusiasts.

FAQs

How do I get to your office? Is the pick up included in the price of the trip?

Roundtrip transfer is not included in the price.

Roundtrip transfer rates of local taxi service:

  • Elixir resort – Stop office - Loh Jark pier 400 THB
  • From all other resorts and areas – Stop office - Loh Jark pier 1,000 THB for 1-5 people, extra person 100 THB

Price of the transfer is always roundtrip and is per car. We split the costs, if there are more guests from the same area. Please send us resort name and your room number to arrange the transfer and pick up.

We recommend renting a scooter to come to our office (250-300 THB/day). There is very little traffic on Koh Yao Yai and scooter is also great way to explore the island.

Why should I book speedboat tour instead of longtail boat tour?

Very common question. However longtail boat experience is one of the highlights in Thailand we recommend to do shorter trips by longtail boat like Koh Hong tour.

Therefore Railay beach & Poda Islands tour by speedboat is faster with comfortable cushion seating and more space. It's a long day and it can be convenient to have marine toilet on board as well. Easy access by ladders from the sea to boat for older people.

Lastly, yes it is join tour, but in small groups 6-14 people what people like about it. Travellers appreciate it when they see other companies with 20-40 people on board.

Definitely value for money.

Do you operate Krabi 4 Islands + Railay beach tour every day?

We’re ready to run the tour every day; however, we do require a minimum of 6 participants for each tour. Since the island is not very touristic, reaching this number can sometimes be a challenge. That’s why we kindly ask you to contact us via email or WhatsApp to confirm our schedule and let us know about your availability during your stay. Our team will do their best to coordinate and accommodate your request whenever possible.

Do you accept credit cards? Can I pay cash in other currencies than THB?

We do not accept credit cards. Instead, we accept direct payments via PayPal, Wise, or Revolut. For in-person payments, we only accept cash in Thai Baht (THB), as we've had difficulties exchanging foreign banknotes in the past. Thank you for your understanding.

What if the weather is bad? Will the tour be canceled or rescheduled?

We monitor the weather and wind forecast very closely each day to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. If the forecast is uncertain, we make a final decision in the morning and notify all participants via WhatsApp. In case the tour cannot operate, we’ll offer to reschedule it for another day—you're welcome to join if your schedule allows. If rescheduling isn’t possible, we provide a full refund (though in most cases, payment is made just before the tour, so there’s usually nothing to refund).
