Overview

Phi Phi Islands Diving In Small Groups Including All Sightseeings

Phi Phi Islands diving trip offers a fantastic combination of diving, snorkeling, and sightseeing experience, making it an ideal option for both divers and non-divers alike. This approach allows divers to bring their partners and families along, creating an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the beauty of marine life together.

The inclusion of popular Phi Phi spots like Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon, and Viking Cave adds a wonderful sightseeing element to the trip. Walking on Maya Beach, exploring the picturesque Pileh Lagoon, and playing with monkeys contribute to the overall adventure and enjoyment. Additionally, cruising along Viking Cave provides a chance to appreciate the coastal scenery and natural wonders of the area.

The acknowledgment of breathtaking natural creations as the best rewards of the trip emphasizes the value of the overall experience. It seems like a well-rounded excursion that not only caters to the interests of divers but also ensures that non-divers have plenty of enjoyable activities and scenic attractions to appreciate throughout the day.

This type of integrated trip is likely to create lasting memories for both divers and non-divers, showcasing the beauty of the underwater world and the stunning landscapes of Phi Phi Islands diving locations.

Dive sites around Phi Phi Islands

Koh Bida Nok, the larger of the two Bida Islands. Its popularity among divers is attributed to the diversity of marine life and the opportunity to explore three different dives in the area. Our the most popular dive site.

The shallow bay serves as an ideal starting point for divers, providing shelter both above and below the surface. It’s mentioned that this area is particularly suitable for first-time divers, those taking courses, or those in need of a refresher.

Maya Corner, located along the North wall of the bay near the entrance to Maya Bay, seems to be a versatile and captivating dive site suitable for divers of all levels. The diversity of landscapes and marine life offers a rich underwater experience.

For more advanced divers, exploring the swim-throughs near Maya Beach adds an extra layer of excitement to the dive. These underwater passages can provide a thrilling experience as divers navigate through them, discovering hidden corners of the reef.

Malong, a dive site near Maya Bay on Phi Phi Leh. The addition of a buoy line by the national park team has made it safer for both divers and snorkelers. The underwater shelf, ranging from 3 to 6 meters, is a popular starting point for divers, offering the opportunity to explore and encounter marine life.

One highlight mentioned is the chance to spot Hawksbill Turtles in the area. These turtles are known for their distinctive beak and colorful shell patterns.

Palong is another fascinating dive site, and it seems like a great spot for those interested in encountering Black-tip Reef Sharks. While these sharks are generally not aggressive towards humans, they have a tendency to keep their distance.

Phi Phi East Side

Garang Heng sounds like another fantastic dive site about 15 minutes to the east by boat from Koh Bida Nok.

Starting at a depth of 5 meters and gradually descending deeper, the reef at Garang Heng provides a varied diving experience. The shallower parts of the reef boast vibrant marine life, including colorful soft corals, anemones, and sea fans.

For those seeking a bit more depth and excitement, the opportunity to spot Leopard Sharks in the sandy areas adds a thrilling aspect to the dive.

The Kled Gaeow sounds like an exciting and unique dive site around Phi Phi, especially for advanced divers or those undergoing advanced courses or deep specialty training. The fact that it is a retired navy ship intentionally sunk in 2014 adds an interesting historical and artificial reef aspect to the dive.

The depth of the wreck, starting from around 14 meters and sitting at 27 meters, makes it suitable for divers with advanced certifications.

Itinerary

Departure time between 9am to 11am

Our departure times depend on the tide schedule to ensure the best possible diving conditions with high tide and mild currents. We will confirm the departure time via email or WhatsApp. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before departure.

Preparation in dive centre

We will check your diving certification, have you complete the diving form, and assist with trying on equipment if needed. You'll also receive a briefing about the tour. After a tour briefing, we’ll head to Loh Jark Pier by taxi (if booked) or by your rental scooter if a taxi hasn’t been arranged.

Cruise to Phi Phi, first stop Maya Bay

The boat ride to Maya Bay takes about 50 minutes. From the boat, you'll have the chance to admire the famous Maya Beach and take memorable photos. After your first dive, we’ll ask if you’d like to walk on the beach. Please note that a park entrance ticket is required, swimming is not allowed, and the visit includes a 10-minute walk with a total stay of about 40 minutes.

1st dive Koh Bida Nok + snorkeling

Koh Bida Nok is our first dive site, offering an easy dive starting at a depth of 5 meters. Each dive lasts approximately 50 minutes or until reaching 50 bars of air, whichever comes first. After the dive, we take a one-hour surface break, during which you can enjoy fresh fruit and soft drinks. A light meal of fried rice with chicken is served during the trip—please let us know in advance if you require a vegetarian option.

Surface break with sightseeings

During the surface break, we may visit the famous Maya Beach, explore Pileh Bay with short stop for swim, and cruise past Viking Cave before heading to our second dive site. Depending on the season, this will be either Malong Wall or Palong Wall on the west side of Phi Phi Leh Island.

2nd dive Malong Wall + snorkeling

On the second dive, we drift along the Malong or Palong walls, following the current. This is an easy dive with an average depth of 12–16 meters. It's also a great spot for snorkeling, with a good chance of spotting sea turtles.

Wang Long Bay, Monkey beach

After our second dive, we make two final stops. First, we visit the beautiful, narrow bay of Wang Long, where we often spot monkeys on the cliffs. Then, we head to Monkey Beach, where you can enjoy a final swim or snorkeling session, or simply relax on the pristine white sand while watching monkeys emerge from the jungle.

Return to Koh Yao Yai after 6 hours

We cruise back to Koh Yao Yai, a journey of about 40 minutes, and return to the office to fill out logbooks and share our diving experiences.

FAQs

How do I get to your location? Is transfer included in the price?

Roundtrip transfer is not included in the price.

  • Elixir resort – 400 THB (5 mins. drive)
  • Loh Pared Beach Area (Santhiya Resort, Royal Yao Yai, Blue Bay resort, Yao Yai Resort) – 700 THB (15 mins. drive)
  • North of Koh Yao Yai (Anantara, Koh Yao Yai Village, Hillside resort, Thiwson, Baan Taranya – 800 THB (25 mins. drive)

Price of the transfer is always roundtrip and is per car. We split the costs, if there are more guests from the same area. Please send us resort name and your room number to arrange the transfer and pick up.

We recommend renting a motorbike to come to our office (250 THB/day). There is very little traffic on Koh Yao Yai and motorbike is also great way to explore the island.

Do I need an Open Water Diver (OWD) certification?

Yes, OWD certificate is required for all our diving trips with the exception of our SCUBA diving courses.

Why is 2 tanks dive with Elixir Divers more expensive than with companies from other islands?

Koh Yao Yai is an emerging diving destination, perfectly positioned near stunning sites like Shark Point and Anemone Reef. While the island is still developing and hasn’t attracted large tourist crowds, this is what makes it a hidden gem for divers seeking a quieter experience. We pride ourselves on offering personalized, detail-oriented service, ensuring that every dive is memorable. Our brand-new, custom-made diving speedboat is designed for comfort, accommodating up to 16 divers, but we prefer small groups of 4-12 to enhance your experience. Unlike larger operators that rely on slower boats with up to 30 divers, we focus on quality and intimacy. We equip our divers with top-quality Apeks regulators, and our equipment is meticulously maintained by our dedicated team, ensuring safety and performance. While our pricing may be slightly higher—averaging 1,000 THB (25€) for two dives—it reflects the exceptional value and experience we provide. Just check our reviews to see what our clients say. It's important to note that while prices in Thailand haven’t changed significantly in over a decade, the costs of maintaining high standards have risen. Many operators cut corners by competing solely on price, often sacrificing quality or personal attention to divers. We believe in investing in our services to provide an unparalleled diving experience. Join us at Koh Yao Yai for an unforgettable dive adventure!
